    Kevin Shah praises a local poet of some renown, Don Thompson, who will give a free reading of his poems at Russo’s Books at 7 p.m. Aug. 11. Shah runs an open mic on that night and generally on the second Thursday of each month, during which the public is invited to participate by reading their own works, if they wish.
