Communities throughout the Kern River Valley partner up for the four-day 2010 Living Green Kern River Valley Festival March 17-21. Events include films, expos, workshops, native plant sales, a town hall meeting on water issues and a green fashion show.

Introducing the Green Living section
Welcome to the Green Living section of Bakersfield Express. This section will address ways in which we as a community can live more sustainable, less wasteful lifestyles and reduce our carbon footprint on the earth. Here we will post advice on green living, such as recycling, organic gardening, alternative energy and green business practices. We will profile local individuals, organizations and businesses that are putting green practices into place. We will also offer commentary on how Bakersfield can step forward to a greener lifestyle.
